Drinkwater charged by MRC

Veteran prop Josh Papali'i faces suspension after being one of three Raiders players charged over incidents in Friday night's 24-20 win against the Bulldogs at Suncorp Stadium.

Papali'i was sinbinned in the first half of the opening match of Magic Round for a hip drop tackle on Fijian strike forward Viliame Kikau and faces a one match ban if he pleads guilty to Grade 2 dangerous contact.

However, the Test and Origin representative will be suspended for two matches if he unsuccessfully challenges the charge at a judiciary hearing.

Fellow Raiders forward Joseph Tapine has also been charged for a careless high tackle on Kikau in the 27th minute, while Kiwis international Jordan Rapana was booked for dangerous contact on Bulldogs hooker Reed Mahoney late in the match.

Rapana, who was sinbinned in the first half for a professional foul, and Tapine face fines of $1000-to-$1500 for the Grade 1 charges. 

Brisbane forward Brendan Piakura also faces a fine for a Grade 1 careless high tackle on Manly's Corey Waddell in the second match on Friday night, won 13-12 by the Broncos.
