It’s been a long season in rehab for North Queensland Toyota Cowboys co-captain Matt Scott, and his return to pre-season training this week was made even sweeter with a special visit to his Adopt-a-School of three years, Heatley State School.
Scott visited prep and year five students for indoor and outdoor activities, as part of the last round of 2017 Adopt-a-School visits, thanks to program partner Stockland Townsville.
To kick things off, the Cowboys forward played the role of referee in a quick game of rugby league with the year five sports class on the school oval, before heading inside to meet with the school's youngest students in prep.
The preppies had been practising their question structures and asked their adopted Cowboy plenty of things about his football career, followed by a fast-paced maths game that had every little mind thinking.
His Cowboys teammates also spent time with their respective Adopt-a-Schools throughout the Townsville region:

The Cowboys make over 650 visits to North Queensland schools each year for Adopt-a-School and are regularly involved in a variety of school community activities, including curriculum activities, sporting clinics, presentation nights and school assemblies.
