With a new pre-season just around the corner, North Queensland Toyota Cowboys players gathered at club HQ today to officially unveil the team’s 2018 jersey range.

Rugged backrower Ethan Lowe praised the jersey’s bold ‘horns’ design, which harks back to the club’s original logo from 1995 of a stand-alone set of horns.

“It’s pretty cool, I love the way the horns sit across our shoulders, it feels like the jersey is part of us and that we are part of the jersey, which is the way it should be,” Lowe said.

“We’ll all returning to pre-season in a few weeks and for me personally, I’m looking forward to getting back out there again, preparing for the new season … and this new kit is a nice reminder that 2018 will roll around soon.”

Lowe was joined by fellow 2017 grand finalist Corey Jensen at the jersey unveiling today, with the club showcasing their 2018 Home and Away jerseys, as well as the Women in League jersey.

Both men will return to training in late-November, with the first crop of players to start their pre-seasons next Monday.

Cowboys CEO Greg Tonner is excited that the first pieces of a new National Rugby League campaign are falling into place.

“After a phenomenal 2017 where the team qualified for their second grand final in three seasons, there’s so much positive energy about the place heading into the new season,” Mr Tonner said.

“And what better way to get the ball rolling than with our new jerseys, which look fantastic … bold, daring, creative, just like our magnificent players.

“A strong club focuses on the future while respecting its past and traditions, and that’s what this new range of jerseys so compellingly do.”

Mr Tonner said after some reflection time, the club was re-energised and ready for an exciting 2018 season.

“We are perfectly positioned to build on our tremendous 2017 with an even better 2018, both on the field and off, and we’re really excited about where we can go in terms of memberships, home games, corporate and community,” he said.

“Our former player Ray Thompson started work in our Community team today, where he and Matthew Bowen will continue to deliver our award-winning community programs across the region.

"Our membership campaign for 2018 has started strongly and we’ve consolidated some strong partnerships, including an extension with our naming rights partner Toyota Australia and the North Queensland Toyota Dealers.

“We’re confident this new jersey range will be a hit with players and fans alike."

All jerseys feature the distinctive bulls horn design and the emblems of jersey sponsors Toyota, The Ville Resort-Casino, ISC Sports, Bundaberg Rum and Shine Lawyers.
