Selfless North Queensland Toyota Cowboys prop Corey Jensen says he’ll play whatever role he's asked to as head coach Paul Green tries to get the best out of his injury-ravaged roster for the remainder of the 2017 National Rugby League season.

The young Bowen product, 23, was a late call-up to the starting team last week against the Sharks, running and tackling strongly in a 31-minute appearance featuring 69m running metres from six carries plus 24 tackles.

He has been flagged to start in Friday’s match against Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Stadium, partnering Scott Bolton in the front row and looking to establish midfield control for his backs.

This week, head coach Paul Green said he was trying to figure out the most effective way to use his forwards rotation from week-to-week, something that proved challenging given the team’s high injury toll.

With this being the case, Jensen again gets the starter’s jersey for his 12th appearance in Cowboys colours.

“We’ve got another big game this round, and we really need to put in another whole-hearted performance like we have been,” Jensen said.

“I’m keen and willing to play my part in that and if that means starting, I’ll start, or coming off the bench, I’ll do that too.”

Friday’s game kicks off at 7.50pm.
