Super-consistent North Queensland Toyota Cowboys hooker Jake Granville says he's making a conscious effort to increase his on-field communication to help the team navigate the tricky waters of the late-season injury toll.

As head coach Paul Green continues to manage a full casualty ward, Granville says he has been mindful of being a clear communicator as new and younger players come in and out of the side.

“My job pretty much stays the same, but with the injuries we’ve had, we’ve got blokes back into the side, young blokes making their debuts, so it’s very important for me to up the talk, not just in the games, but at training sessions also,” Granville said.

“We’re keeping really positive during this period and looking forward to taking on the Sharks back at home.”

The eighth-placed Cowboys host the fourth-placed Cronulla Sharks at 1300SMILES Stadium this Saturday, with kick off at 7.30pm.
