Another brand of cowboy is set to hit Mt Isa when the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Team Shop van pulls into the rodeo arena, laden with special offers on membership and merchandise for rugby league fans!
Recognising the value of its regional supporters, the club’s membership and merchandise team is on a cross-country adventure with the Team Shop van, giving Cowboys members and fans easy access to a wide range of merchandise.
Cowboys Distant Star member Mitchell Godfrey, who normally watches his beloved Cowboys team on-field, will be one of thousands getting ready to cheer for the horse-riding variety, as the famous Mt Isa Rodeo takes over the state’s north-western centre.
Mitchell and his partner Andrea are excited about everything the local event has to offer.
“We’ve been living in Mt Isa for the past three years, so we were introduced to the rodeo concept early on, and have loved going every year ever since,” Mr Godfrey said.
Born and bred in Townsville, the 28-year-old is passionate about all things North-Queensland – including the North’s national rugby league team, who he says have their very own ‘work-horse’.
“I’ve been following the club since 1995, along with the entire family and would have to say my favourite player is Gavin Cooper – he is an absolute workhorse and does what he has to do for the team.”
“My partner follows the Broncos, so that makes for some great rivalry – we’ll be doing our best to make it back for the game at the end of the season.”
Cowboys enthusiasts are encouraged to visit the Team Shop van this week for the chance to win a signed jersey, simply by entering the ‘Road Trip’ competition^.
