A 200-kilometre drive from Tully for the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys home game against the Warriors was definitely worth the trip, when long-term supporters Linda Davies and sister Melissa were upgraded to the Shine Super Sofa, thanks to membership sponsor Shine Lawyers!
A manager at a local banana farm, Linda said the opportunity was just as good as it sounded on the phone when she received the winning call.
“It was an amazing spot to watch footy and so comfortable – we felt very special,” Linda said of their experience on the Sofa.
Linda has followed the Cowboys since their inception in 1995, but only recently joined as a member to take advantage of the Round 20 Women In League promotion, using the general admission tickets to bring her grandson and his friend.
“My grandson Rohan wouldn’t take his arm tag off the next day because he wanted to brag to everyone at school,” she said.
Linda was sitting just rows away from the try line at the club’s premiership-winning grand final, and says the experience still rates as her favourite moment.
“We were sitting just 20 rows back from where Kyle Feldt put the ball down to level the score … there was lots of crying and hugging – the best day of my life!”
