Jason Taumalolo says he has no doubt he and his fellow forwards can stand up to the Roosters’ pack as the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys look for a fifth straight win on Saturday night.

The Cowboys travel south to take on the boys from Bondi in a clash between the second- and fifth-placed teams on the National Rugby League ladder.

The home side will boast big props Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Dylan Napa, that imposing pair up against veteran Scott Bolton and young front-row playmaker John Asiata.

Taumalolo – who leads the NRL for running metres this season – says Bolton and Asiata are more than up to the challenge and had laid the groundwork of their collective good form with recent strong showings against the big Warriors and Raiders’ forward packs.

“I have full faith in those boys in getting us rolling, and I’ll look to do my part too,” Taumalolo said.

“Johnny has stepped up to start in some recent games and he’s been really strong and as a group.

“We forwards are confident of matching it with anyone in the comp.”

Saturday’s game at Allianz Stadium kicks off at 7.30pm.
