North Queensland Toyota Cowboys membership partner Shine Lawyers reward a lucky Cowboys member each home game with premium front row seats on the exclusive Shine Super Sofa.
Growing up in a Defence family meant plenty of travel for the Maher family, but after being posted to Townsville in 2001, the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys became the home team for Silver Star member Debbie.
“I have always cheered for the Cowboys, but my original team was from Dallas! [But] after our first posting to Townsville, that’s when they became my team.”
Thanks to membership sponsor Shine Lawyers, Debbie was upgraded to front-row seats at the last home game against the Titans.
Debbie says she loves how each player contributes to the team as a whole, making it hard to pick a ‘favourite’.
“I love them all, but I must admit I have a soft spot for Jake Granville. I think his never-say-die attitude during 2015 helped us get to the grand final, where he set up our first two tries.”
Along with many Cowboys members and fans, the grand final still rates as her favourite Cowboys moment.
“You can’t go past Michael Morgan’s magical flick pass to Kyle Feldt to tie up the GF! That was legendary.”
The Maher family haven’t missed a home game since 2009, and Debbie says the opportunity to be on the Shine Super Sofa was one of the most comfortable experiences to date.
“We usually sit on the Southern hill, so just being on a chair was great, but sitting on a comfy sofa was even better!”
