Durable North Queensland Toyota Cowboy Kane Linnett is approaching his positional switch for Saturday's Round 15 clash with the Storm with a typical no-fuss attitude and a desire to simply do his job well.

Linnett, usually a left-side centre, will move one man in, into the left back-row position as a replacement for Gavin Cooper, who is away with the Maroons in State of Origin camp.

“I’ll play wherever Greeny (head coach Paul Green) needs me to play and whatever is best for the team,” Linnett said this week.

“I guess with the way I play, with the carries and that, it’s a bit like back row anyway so it will be sweet.”

Linnett said he expected to play the entire 80 minutes as he would if playing in the centres and that he may have to do a bit more tackling than normal.

Exciting young centre Javid Bowen gets another chance to impress at National Rugby League level, where he will play inside experienced winger Antonio Winterstein.

Saturday’s game against the table-topping Storm kicks off at AAMI Park at 5.30pm.
