All the little effort areas – Cooper

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys second rower Gavin Cooper says the team is looking forward to righting wrongs from Round 3 when they play the Gold Coast Titans at Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday.

Coming off a heavy defeat at home last start, the Cowboys face a Titans team buoyed by a spirited 26-14 win last start, with both sides hit heavily by injury.

And while Cooper says the team will be prepared to scrap it out, he knows there’s room for improvement.

“It won’t be the flashest game you’ll see the Cowboys play, but we’ve got to get back to playing a bit gritty,” Cooper said.

“We ground out a couple of good wins against Canberra and the Broncos, but the weekend (versus Manly) wasn’t us, and by a long stretch.

“It’s tough playing down there [Gold Coast] and we haven’t won down there for a while, so hopefully – like the Broncos (away) in Round 2 – we can tick this one off the list.”

The game kicks off at 8pm this Saturday.
