The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys and McDonald’s North Queensland franchises are uniting in a new major partnership that will bring exciting game day activations and offers for Cowboys members and fans.

The new deal extends the existing collaboration across major North Queensland stores to include Mackay, Cairns, Mt Isa, Townsville, Ingham, Ayr and Charters Towers, and will give the club’s regional supporters access to various restaurant activations.

The partnership covers McDonald’s franchises that employ 2,500 North Queenslanders, within a national network that creates more than 6,000 new jobs each year and spends over $40 million per annum on training and people development.

McDonald’s are kicking off the Cowboys’ 2017 season as match-day sponsors for Saturday’s home clash against the Raiders, which also coincides with the launch of their new ‘Gourmet Creations’ range in all stores throughout Australia.

To celebrate, patrons will receive a voucher (numbers limited) on stadium entry for great value 2-for-1 offers redeemable at all Macca’s stores in Townsville, Ayr, Charters Towers and Ingham restaurants, valid until 31 March 2017.

Cowboys members will also have the chance to participate in a unique on-field activation aptly titled ‘The Great Burger Race’ – members will be chosen from a lucky draw at Summer Members Bar between 3.30pm-5pm on Saturday.

McDonald’s licensee Paul Rissman said the North Queensland restaurants and local franchisees were proud to be furthering their partnership with the Cowboys.

“McDonald's prides itself on supporting the local community and we know the Cowboys are a community club that inspires North Queenslanders across the region,” Mr Rissman said.

Cowboys general manager commercial business Jeff Reibel said the club was delighted to be building on their strong relationship with a community-minded partner.

“McDonald’s contribution to North Queensland is significant, and members and fans will be familiar with their community work through various community partnerships and Ronald McDonald House North Queensland,” Mr Reibel said.

“Giving back is very important to both McDonald’s and the Cowboys, and we’ll be working together to boost our joint contribution across a range of initiatives.”

Under the partnership, Cowboys NRL player Lachlan Coote will continue in his role as ambassador of Ronald McDonald House North Queensland, helping to raise funds and awareness for the charity and visiting young patients in treatment.

Young rugby league fans will also continue to have the opportunity to play their important match-day role as McDonald’s Ball Boys at Cowboys home games.
