Cowboys Community Foundation ambassador Matthew Bowen has lent his hand to spread the message of 2016 White Ribbon Day, Australia's campaign to prevent
men's violence against women.
Bowen was on location on Friday to assist Wing Commander Michael Burgess-Orton and TAFE Queensland North Director - Education and Training Ian Smythe with the White Ribbon pledge and oath, with event attendees also signing paper hands as a show of support.

The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys also joined forces with the Townsville Bulletin in the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® campaign, the world’s largest movement of men working to end violence against women.
Former Cowboy and elite pathways manager Glenn Hall, NRL player Ray Thompson and NYC player Bacho Salam donned heels to raise awareness in the North Queensland community about the serious causes, effects and remediations to men's sexualised violence against women.
White Ribbon Australia highlights the positive role men can play to stop violence against women and enables them to be part of this social change through education, awareness raising and creative campaigns, preventative programs, partnerships and political advocacy.
- One in three women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence perpetrated by someone known to them.
- One in four children are exposed to domestic violence.
