Season review: Kane Linnett

Established centre Kane Linnett once again showed his value to the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys – in his fifth year with the club – with another no-nonsense season where near-impregnable defence combined with a strong running game and no shortage of toughness.

Linnett and left-edge partner Antonio Winterstein showed their class and experience multiple times over the course of the season, with 27-year-old Linnett often playing as an extra forward, such was the toughness of his carries.

In terms of injury, the New South Welshman had a difficult year, missing a number of games with shoulder and hamstring complaints.

On the rep scene, the former Sydney Rooster made his Country debut in the annual clash in May, while he will again proudly represent Scotland in the upcoming Four Nations tournament in England.
