Veteran prop Scott Bolton, 29, again showed his remarkable durability and consistency in 2016, his 10th season as an NRL Cowboy and the eighth straight in which he has played more than 10 top grade games.

Used primarily off the bench alongside fellow big bopper Ben Hannant, Bolton was one of just three Cowboys players to suit up for all 27 Cowboys games in 2016.

Injury-free and playing some of his best footy in a distinguished career, Bolton offered coach Paul Green a ready-made substitute for Matt Scott and James Tamou when it came time in games to give his starting big men a rest.

The Innisfail product stepped up during the Origin period, starting in several matches, a switch he may strive to make permanent in 2017 given the departure to Penrith of NSW State of Origin big man James Tamou.
