Tooth Fairy's important message

Fairy dust and magic – and an important lesson on dental care – were all enjoyed by local Townsville students across four schools this week as part of a dental information programme provided by Westfund Health Insurance.

As always, the Westfund Tooth Fairy provided her usual charm by interacting with the young students, while dental assistants provided an informative and vital message on introductory dental care.

The programme was organised for Years 1 and 2 students at Cranbrook State Primary, Holy Spirit Catholic, Wulguru and Annandale State schools with hundreds of students engaged.

Each session combined the mystique and charm of the tooth fairy with the valuable informative aspect of an introductory age-suitable dental session for younger students.

The dental sessions follow on from Westfund’s highly successful vision screening programmes staged at local schools earlier this month.

These sessions form part of the Westfund Community Programme initiative which focuses on providing support and preventative healthcare initiatives in regional areas.

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys ambassador and former player Brent Tate was part of the fun at Wulguru State School, as part of the school's regular Cowboys Adopt-a-School visit.

Cowboys players make over 650 visits to North Queensland schools each year for the Adopt-a-School program – proudly supported by Stockland Townsville – and are involved in a variety of school community activities, including curriculum activities, sporting clinics, presentation nights and school assemblies.
