North Queensland Toyota Cowboys head coach Paul Green has named his team for Sunday’s Round 23 National Rugby League match against the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium.
Included in the 17 is young forward Patrick Kaufusi, named off the bench as a replacement for Ben Hannant, who will be out for several weeks after sustaining a knee injury in the team’s loss to the Wests Tigers on Sunday.
The club announced today that Kaufusi had signed a one-year contract extension.
The New Zealand-born Bundaberg Brothers junior has come through the club’s Elite Pathways program, playing for the club’s under-20s team and then for feeder team the Northern Pride in the Intrust Super Cup.
Kaufusi, 22, made his NRL debut for the club in Round 16 last year and has played a total of nine games in the top grade.
