The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys are proud to announce a renewed commercial partnership with Queensland Country Credit Union (QCCU).

QCCU, a long term major sponsor of the Cowboys, has re-signed as a major sponsor, and as the official banking partner of the reigning National Rugby League Premiers.

QCCU’s CEO Aileen Cull said the Cowboys partnership was a great fit for Queensland Country.

“Queensland Country and the Cowboys are both proud of their strong community focus throughout Queensland, especially in regional areas,” she said.

“We are both member-owned and as such, actively invest in our Northern region from our head offices in Townsville. The Cowboys and QCCU have been banking partners for a long time. In 2016, we wanted to celebrate this fact and actively promote what is a long-standing financial relationship."

“Queensland Country will shortly be releasing a limited-edition Cowboys 2015 Premiers credit card. We were thrilled when JT (Johnathan Thurston) agreed to be the face of our upcoming campaign.

“We’re excited about the year ahead and will shortly be activating some very real initiatives in conjunction with the Cowboys as part of our sponsorship.”

Those initiatives will be led by a planned QCCU traineeship for a Cowboys under-20s player.

Another feature of the Cowboys-QCCU partnership will be involvement in the club’s Learn Earn Legend! community program, which provides education support to Indigenous students in Years 11 and 12.

Cowboys CEO Greg Tonner said the club was delighted to have a long-time partner re-commit to a major sponsorship, adding he was excited about the potential of the relationship.

“QCCU is an established business in regional Queensland and their community focus is a perfect fit for us,” Mr Tonner said.

“Their planned under-20s traineeship is a great example of how a true partnership of this nature should work, while their commitment to facilitating growth in our membership is highly valued.”
