The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys under-20s have posted consecutive wins in the National Youth Competition with a 34-22 win over a plucky Manly Sea Eagles outfit at Brookvale Oval tonight.

The home side hung with the Cowboys for most of the match, trailing 4-10 at half time, but poor discipline and some classy NQ play conspired to keep the young Sea Eagles winless over nine games in 2016.

For the Cowboys, they have now scored 88 points in their past two matches and have further entrenched themselves in the top four with a 6-3 win-loss record.

Tough-as-teak hooker Brandon Smith was the star for the young Cowboys, scoring a hat-trick of tries and proving a handful with every touch of the footy.

North Queensland now turn their attention to the Storm at Suncorp Stadium in two weeks’ time.

NORTH QUEENSLAND TOYOTA COWBOYS 34 (Brandon Smith 3, Darryn Schonig, Nathan Traill, Coen Hess tries; Kalyn Ponga 4 goals; pen. goal) def MANLY SEA EAGLES 22 (Hutana Coffin, Billy Bainbridge, Luke Polselli, Sione Hopoate tries; Coffin 3 goals) at Brookvale Oval.
