Adopt-a-School: Michael Morgan

While a 5-2 win-loss record to start the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys’ NRL premiership defence might spell success, star five-eighth Michael Morgan was helping out Marian Catholic School students with their own spelling challenges this week.

Morgan visited the school as part of the club’s Adopt-a-School program, which is proudly supported by Stockland Townsville.

While there, the former Marian student helped Year 5 students out with a spelling challenge, mingling with the kids before taking questions from the excited classroom.

The rest of his teammates also visited their adopted schools during the week.

Ben Spina joined Annandale State School students in the Fun Run Day, Justin O’Neill shared the premiership experience with Southern Cross Catholic School and Gavin Cooper handed out certificates at Wulguru State School’s cross country day.

Cowboys players make over 650 visits to North Queensland schools each year and are involved in a variety of school community activities, including curriculum activities, sporting clinics, presentation nights and school assemblies, as part of the program.
