Javid Bowen’s hat-trick of tries has inspired the Northern Pride to a 42-10 demolition of Norths Devils at Barlow Park.
The centre ran in his three tries in the second half to notch up only their second victory of the competition.
After leading 10-4 early, the defending champions ripped through the visitors after half time in wet conditions.
After their eight-try performance the Cairns side will no doubt fancy their chances against Souths Logan, again at Barlow Park.

The Mackay Cutters' winning run has come to an end at the hands of the PNG Hunters by a miserly two points.
After two losses away from home the Hunters clearly enjoyed being back in front of their home fans as they raced out to a 26-6 lead.
But with Josh Chudleigh scoring two on his return from an ankle injury, along with Sam Clune and Liam Taylor, the visitors reeled the home side back in with a 20-point run before falling short 26-24.
