Avid Toyota Cowboys member Karrie Webb received a special birthday present from North Queensland’s co-captains Johnathan Thurston and Matt Scott when she dropped in to training at 1300SMILES Stadium this morning.

The winner of seven majors and 51 tournaments all up in women’s golf has always been a big Cowboys fan but rarely gets the chance to see the team live because she spends most of her year overseas on the LPGA Tour.

She’s back home in North Queensland for the Christmas/New Year break, which includes a 40th birthday party in Townsville on Saturday night.

With the NRL squad looking on, the Cowboys co-captains, who are both keen golfers, presented Karrie with a 2015 home jersey after she watched them go through an hour-long session – their first on their home ground this pre-season.

“It’s been brilliant to be able to come out here and watch them train,” she said.

“I’m a huge Cowboys fan and a proud North Queenslander.”

Karrie, who is Cowboys’ member number 3192, added to the club’s 2015 membership count by buying a couple of memberships as Christmas presents for her family during her visit.
