Toyota Cowboys ambassador Brent Tate will visit three schools in Ayr on Tuesday as part of the Adopt-a-School program.

Recently retired from rugby league after a career that featured more than 200 NRL matches plus Test and State of Origin honours, Tate will be catching up with students at Ayr State School, East Ayr State School and St Francis Primary School during his day in the Burdekin.

“You always get plenty out of visiting the kids and hopefully they learn something that will help them as well,” Tate said.

“We try to make each visit as informative and educational as we can, as well as having plenty of fun and chatting about footy.

“I know I always leave every school with a smile on my face after having a really enjoyable time.”

The Adopt-a-School program, proudly supported by program partner Stockland, ties in with the NRL’s 'Eat well, Play well, Stay well' health initiative that aims to use the profile of rugby league to influence school-aged children to make positive choices around their health and well-being.

Schools that have signed up to be part of Adopt-a-School design activities that match the 'Eat well, Play well, Stay well' theme.

Brent Tate’s trip to Ayr has been made possible with the support of Wilmar Sugar through their commitment to schools in the region.
