Highly-regarded outside back Tautau Moga will make an immediate move to the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys after signing on until the end of the 2016 NRL season.

A former Australian Schoolboys and Queensland Junior Origin representative, Moga has played 14 NRL matches for the Sydney Roosters where he was contracted until the end of this season.

However, the 20-year-old has negotiated an early release from his contract with the premiers and will join his new teammates at Cowboys HQ this afternoon.

At home on the wing or in the centres, Moga made his debut for the Roosters as an 18-year-old in round 10 of the 2012 season and scored seven tries in his 14 games.

He played his junior club football with the Springfield Panthers and attended St Peter Claver College in Ipswich.

“Tautau is an outstanding young man with extraordinary talent who should be a great fit for the Toyota Cowboys,” general manager – football Peter Parr said.

“Anyone who has seen him play comes away impressed with what he can do on the footy field.

“We’re very happy to not only have him join us for the next two seasons, but also the remainder of 2014 so he can get a headstart on his career in North Queensland.”
