Day 3 - Random Acts of Kindness Week

Three different parts of the North Queensland community have benefitted from day three of the Cowboys’ Random Acts of Kindness Week.

Scott Bolton and Aaron Payne were special guests at the annual Mayor’s Christmas Tree Appeal gift giving ceremony at Reid Park in Townsville and helped to hand out hampers and gifts to the registered charities who benefitted from the $105,000 in cash, food and gift donations that was raised this year.

More than 1600 hampers and 648 food vouchers were put together from donations including more than $80,000 in cash, 900 kilograms in food and in excess of 1000 gifts.

On behalf of the club, the Cowboys duo also randomly gave away Coles/Myer gift cards to two charities – the Coast to Country Housing Company and Food Relief NQ.

Meanwhile, Tariq Sims surprised his Stockland Adopt-a-School, the Townsville Community Learning Centre, with a cash donation in another random act of kindness.

The money will be added to fundraising for the school’s pool heating project which has also benefitted from the raffle of one of Sims’s jerseys signed by the North Queensland NRL squad.

The Cowboys’ Random Acts of Kindness Week will continue on Thursday at another two locations.
