Cowboys meet Cowboys of a different kind

Three cowboys from the PBR Australia series are the newest 2013 members of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys.

Bullriders Chase Outlaw, Sean Willingham and Skeeter Kingsolver are in Townsville for the Troy Dunn Invitational event to be staged at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre on Saturday night.

They received their Star memberships and members' polo shirts from Ashton Sims, Kalifa Faifai Loa and Michael Morgan who gave the cowboys a tour of the club’s facilities as well as some rugby league skills tuition with the help of giant back-rower Jason Taumalolo.

The bullriders had a stint on the tackle bags and impressed Sims with their technique.

“They did a really good job. You could see they’re pretty competitive and know how to lay down a good tackle,” Sims said.

“They’re not as big as us but they’ve got massive hearts to do what they do.

“We’re proud to have them join up as members and I’m sure they’ll keep a close eye on how we go during the season now they’ve met a few of our Cowboys.”

Everyone who renews as a Cowboys member, or joins up as a new member for 2013, by 15 November will go in the draw to win tickets to see the Chase, Sean and Skeeter in the “Toughest Sport on Dirt” on Saturday night.

The club has four double-passes to the PBR event to give away and everyone who has already signed up for the new season is in the draw.

The Cowboys’ 10,336 members from 2012 have until the cut-off date of 5pm on Thursday to renew their membership and keep the seats they had for the recently completed season.

For the first time, all memberships can be renewed or bought online by visiting www.cowboys.com.au.

Everyone who renews, or new members who sign up before 31 December, will also go into the draw for a Cowboys Money Can’t Buy Experience, drawn early next year.

The prize includes:
• A cheque for the value of the winner’s membership
• A 2013 Cowboys jersey with the winner’s name and favourite playing number on the back
• Invitation for two to the 2013 Season Corporate Launch
• Exclusive access to watch a team training session
• Signed 2013 team photo (framed), featuring the winner with the team
• Invitation for two to the 2013 Cowboys Derby Dinner and Presentation Ball.
