One of the game’s true marquee players, Johnathan Thurston (‘JT’) has captained the Cowboys since 2006 and has the rare distinction of winning two Dally M medals. Whether at five eighth or halfback, Thurston’s ability to read the play is uncanny.
Thurston’s playing career began at Souths Sunnybank, before he made his NRL debut in 2002 and went on to enjoy a taste of premiership success with the Bulldogs in 2004.
His dominance has extended from the National Rugby League to the representative arena, where Thurston has starred for both Queensland and Australia. His stellar playing record includes 13 matches for Queensland (2005-09), 12 tests for Australia 2006-09, the World Cup 2008 and the PM’s XIII 2006.
Thurston has confirmed his reputation as one of Rugby League’s modern-day superstars and is proud to be a North Queensland Toyota Cowboy and a Toyota Ambassador.
